Blindness

Dear Reader, we may often have experienced the friend or relative, who has recently returned from distant shores. Upon this return they start to regale you with this story or that, and soon what was infections enthusiasm can reveal a different side. For in their travels they have altered. Their eyes have open to a new world, one for sure, which existed before, and was just as real, but until then, went unseen and unnoticed by our friend. Yet as technology progresses we may have photo's, recordings of film, even web cams of the area, it still cannot compete with the sense of presence that actually being in the country brings. The sights and sounds, the smells and language. The interaction with locals. This is reserved for those who visit.
So our friend finally comes to the old adage, "you really should go sometime". There the evening end's, with all happy and with all friends.
However imagine if you will a differing scenario, where the friends insistence that this trip was the change above all others, and only a personal visit from you to this country would be an acceptable conclusion to the night's presentation. Now comes a contest of wills and beliefs. For to listen to someone else is one thing, but to change your life is another. So we stall and smile, at first nice things may trip from our mouth, then simple excuses such as money come in to play. Yet with each excuse our friend has countered, where time becomes an issue, he offers to take our load, with money he offers to pay for the trip. Until we are without excuse and we come to truth. We simply don't believe him!, and as such we don't want to go. His understanding of the truth is in our view, in error.
You see dear reader, when someone brings the truth to us and shows it, when they who were blind and now see share this. The reaction we often show is resentment not love, and we go to all ends to discredit the claim.
So Dear Reader, if you are residing on this simply earth, and some one comes with experience of the spiritual world, seeking to open your eyes of blindness, what is your reaction, do you resent them?

Dear Reader in today's economy we have intense pressure to be efficient. Many times this pressure to be efficient takes priority over being effective. Our world can look at things and say, "how do we make this happen faster." Yet somehow "Jesus the Carpenter" was completely effective in his calling in the time and circumstances he found himself. Same

One post I watched, had a line "In reality, there is a lot more that makes us similar than makes us different" It's good to remember. In fact, the thing which makes us all similar is being made in the image of God. During a war, authorities are at pains to paint the enemy as something different, even to labelling the enemy with names to differentiate the people we are fighting against. If we can de-humanise the enemy we will be more effective fighters. Jesus points us in the opposite direction. He reminds us that we all are similar, and all need a way to salvation. For those who accepted this salvation, it is the first step of many, which imparts a direction to life previously not thought of! Connectivity

We are Dear Reader, far more connected than we realise, our lives, like some giant game of ' jenga ', seem to have such affect on things we thought immune, as our human reason perceives it. This lack of knowledge is further intensified, when sinful nature is added to the equation. For in this situation we deny even obvious connections, or possibly choose to believe the lies sallied forth by the world.
