When reading the Bible is often easy to fall into the trap that we cannot do the things that Jesus the Christ did. The truth is the exact opposite. The same power and authority and Spirit that he used to accomplish the work of God the Father is available to us as promised by Jesus upon his resurrection. Yet even when we realise this there exists a second pitfall that awaits the immature Christian. Most desire that works that they do to be grandiose affair well noticed by man and God . However, the less well-informed about Christ's life seemed continually miss the fact that the bulk of what Jesus did was very self-effacing, quiet, and done with complete humility to God the Father's will. In fact it was in the smallest things that Jesus did that we see his greatness coming out.How he was obedient to his earthly parents . How he managed a business and paid for his family to live. How he resisted his family's desire to manipulate him. How he found time to be with God the Father even during his busiest days. It is this every day Jesus we need to emulate, the one who faces the continual pressures of our own lives and demonstrates how he still surrenders to God the Father. He was obedient even in the smallest things.

Dear Reader in today's economy we have intense pressure to be efficient. Many times this pressure to be efficient takes priority over being effective. One post I watched, had a line "In reality, there is a lot more that makes us similar than makes us different" It's good to remember. In fact, the thing which makes us all similar is being made in the image of God. During a war, authorities are at pains to paint the enemy as something different, even to labelling the enemy with names to differentiate the people we are fighting against. If we can de-humanise the enemy we will be more effective fighters. Jesus points us in the opposite direction. He reminds us that we all are similar, and all need a way to salvation. For those who accepted this salvation, it is the first step of many, which imparts a direction to life previously not thought of! We are Dear Reader, far more connected than we realise, our lives, like some giant game of ' jenga ', seem to have such affect on things we thought immune, as our human reason perceives it. This lack of knowledge is further intensified, when sinful nature is added to the equation.
