Wonder

A wonderful fact to reflect upon, dear reader, is this, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other.

This quote reveals the mystery of the celebration of the Western world calls the Christ Mass in a wonderful way. While this above statement is true for every other human being in the world, it is not true for the son of a carpenter Jesus Ben Joseph. His claim was that he was the Messiah, the hope that Israel had been looking for, the solution that God had provided for not only the individual nation but also of the world in total.
In a day, which is now surrounded by so much pageantry and preparation, this essential truth of who Jesus thought himself to be can be easily lost or simply misunderstood.

Another interesting concept is that God himself is a secret and a mystery, unless he chooses to reveal who he is. This is yet another major dimension of what the Christ Mass story brings to the earth. God reveals himself in human form. In a way which we can understand, not coming with might and power but with humility and sacrifice.

If we stare at the sun so long we eventually lose our sight. The same can be true for looking at God, he is so brilliant that we cannot see past that, unless he himself cloaks himself in such a way that many mysteries of his character can be revealed in a way which can be understood by his creation. This was achieved in the person of Jesus Christ. God made flesh.

So God no longer is a mystery to us and we were never a mystery to him.

This is the wonder of the Christ Mass day

Dear Reader in today's economy we have intense pressure to be efficient. Many times this pressure to be efficient takes priority over being effective. One post I watched, had a line "In reality, there is a lot more that makes us similar than makes us different" It's good to remember. In fact, the thing which makes us all similar is being made in the image of God. During a war, authorities are at pains to paint the enemy as something different, even to labelling the enemy with names to differentiate the people we are fighting against. If we can de-humanise the enemy we will be more effective fighters. Jesus points us in the opposite direction. He reminds us that we all are similar, and all need a way to salvation. Connectivity

We are Dear Reader, far more connected than we realise, our lives, like some giant game of ' jenga ', seem to have such affect on things we thought immune, as our human reason perceives it. This lack of knowledge is further intensified, when sinful nature is added to the equation.
